# Lemmy for Freedom
You will notice on some of the first Lemmy instances there is a heavy bias
towards leftist ideology, with any contradictory opinions being heavily
suppressed. Therefore, to encourage free discussion, I have compiled the list
below of instances with permissive or minimalist codes of conduct, which do not
stifle freedom of expression.
